Curriculum Overview

Curriculum Content

 Our curriculum is based on the subjects and content of the National Curriculum, with some content specifically designed to reflect our local context.

Phonics

Read, Write Inc Phonics

 

English

We base our English teaching on quality children’s literature, using teaching sequences from the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education’s (CLPE) ‘Power of Reading’ approach.

Maths

White Rose Maths, supplemented by Master the Curriculum.

We also deliver a daily 15 minute ‘Mastering Number’ session.

Science

History

Geography

Art

Music

Long term plan created in conjunction with Luton Music Service, who deliver our Music lessons. Planning ensures the requirements of the National Curriculum programme of study are fulfilled.

Design Technology

Religious Education

Currently RE Agreed Syllabus (Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton 2019).

Over the course of the 24-25 academic year we will be introducing the new Luton Sacre Agreed Syllabus (June 2024).
